As Vice President, Marine Underwriting for Roanoke Underwriting’s office in Los Angeles, Art Alvarado has over 36 years of marine insurance experience. He is responsible for the national production, underwriting and management of all marine insurance lines including Cargo, Stock Throughputs, Excess Stock, Hull & Protection/Indemnity and Primary/Excess Marine Liabilities. Additionally, he oversees the Los Angeles-based Roanoke Underwriting staff. Art’s efforts at Roanoke Underwriting will be supported by top-notch service and claims teams located in Los Angeles.
Prior to joining Roanoke Underwriting in 2010, Art spent the majority of his career as an underwriter and regional marine manager for large national insurance carriers. He has also spent seven years at Marsh and Willis in marine brokerage. Art is a past President and Annual Installation Chairman of the Marine Underwriters of Southern California. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Finance.
