Colleen Clarke is Vice President, Surety Trade Relations & Business Development for Roanoke Underwriting and has been involved in the international trade segment of the insurance field since 1988. Since 2008, Colleen has managed the independent agent bond business for Roanoke Underwriting. She focuses on business development strategies and has led various initiatives to improve policies and partnerships with the CBP, the surety industry and the trade community for Roanoke Insurance Group Inc.
Colleen joined Washington International Insurance Company as a customs claims adjuster in 1988 when Washington International was owned by the Roanoke Companies. She has worked as a customs claims adjuster, customs bond underwriter, division manager and marketing director for Washington International, and also handled auditing at the company to ensure compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley requirements of the Customs Bond Division.
Colleen has participated in numerous trade associations and the Trade Support Network (TSN) for the development of the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) on which she serves as Trade Ambassador and also co- chairs the Surety Account Subcommittee and the Revenue Committee. She was elected President of the International Trade Surety Association (ITSA) as of September 1, 2015, and is very involved with CBP as a representative on the Customs Surety Executive Committee. In 2009, and again in 2011, Colleen was appointed by the Commercial Operations Advisory Committee (COAC) by the Department of Treasury and the Department of Homeland Security.
